Kidney and ureteral stones: from spontaneous passage to lithotripsy
Most stones under 5 mm pass on their own with fluids and medication that helps expulsion; larger stones, stones stuck in the ureter and stones causing severe pain or infection need lithotripsy or surgery. Based on the size, position and composition seen on CT, Dr. Azaripour chooses between medication, extracorporeal lithotripsy and endoscopic methods. If you have a history of stones, the guides on complications of kidney stones and passing 4 to 10 mm stones are useful reading before your visit.
Enlarged prostate and men's urinary symptoms
Frequency, night-time urination, a weak stream and incomplete emptying in men over 50 usually point to benign prostatic enlargement. Treatment starts with medication; surgery is advised when it stops working or complications appear (retention, recurrent infection, kidney damage). A PSA test and examination at the first visit separate prostate cancer from benign enlargement. See the guide to benign prostatic hyperplasia and the prostate treatment in Mashhad page for details.
Urinary infection, incontinence and hernia
Recurrent urinary infections, burning and incontinence in women and men are treatable once the cause is found (stones, urethral stricture, overactive bladder or weak pelvic-floor muscles); many cases need only medication and exercises, the rest cystoscopy and minimally invasive procedures. Inguinal and scrotal hernias are also common office surgeries, corrected by surgical repair; the guide what is a hernia explains the symptoms and when to see a doctor.

Booking a phone appointment with Dr. Azaripour
Online booking is not available for this doctor; appointments are made only by calling the office. The steps are simple:
- During working hours call the office closer to you and briefly state the reason for the visit (for example "kidney stone" or "enlarged prostate") so the secretary can book the right slot.
- Bring your recent tests and imaging (urinalysis and culture, ultrasound or CT, PSA), your list of medicines and any referral letter; they shorten the time to a diagnosis.
- For severe flank pain with fever, inability to pass urine or bleeding, go to the nearest hospital emergency department instead of waiting for an appointment.
Visit fee and insurance
Specialist visit fees follow the annual tariff of the Iranian Medical Council and may change each year; ask the office about the exact amount and whether basic insurance is accepted when you book. If you have supplementary insurance, keep the office's official invoice so you can claim the visit and treatment costs back.
