PCNL: percutaneous stone removal for large stones
When a kidney stone is larger than two centimetres or staghorn-shaped, extracorporeal lithotripsy usually fails. In PCNL the surgeon reaches the kidney through a small opening in the back, breaks up and removes the stone, and the patient usually goes home after two to three days. Dr. Bashash has performed this operation for years and, after analysing the stone, writes a prevention plan against new stones. The guides on surgery for large kidney stones and complications of kidney stones are useful reading before the visit.
Genital warts in men: laser and cryotherapy
Genital warts (HPV) are fully controllable with early treatment. Depending on the number, site and size of the lesions Dr. Bashash uses cryotherapy (freezing), laser or topical medication, and combines methods for anal warts and resistant lesions. The most important part of treatment is the months-long follow-up for recurrence, done at the same office. The genital warts treatment for men in Mashhad page and the article on laser treatment of genital warts compare the methods.
Prostate, varicocele and circumcision
For men over 50, a PSA test and prostate examination at Dr. Bashash's visit finds prostate cancer at an early, treatable stage, and benign enlargement is controlled with medication or surgery. Varicocele, a common cause of infertility and testicular pain, is corrected with outpatient surgery, and circumcision of children and adults with standard techniques and appropriate anaesthesia is part of the office's surgical schedule; the circumcision in Mashhad page explains the details and costs.

Booking a phone appointment with Dr. Bashash
Online booking is not available for this doctor; appointments are made only by calling the office. The steps are simple:
- During working hours call the office and briefly state the reason for the visit (for example "kidney stone" or "genital warts") so the secretary can book the right slot.
- Bring your recent tests and imaging (ultrasound or CT, urinalysis, PSA), your list of medicines and any referral letter; they shorten the time to a diagnosis.
- For severe flank pain with fever, inability to pass urine or bleeding, go to the nearest hospital emergency department instead of waiting for an appointment.
Visit fee and insurance
Specialist visit fees follow the annual tariff of the Iranian Medical Council and may change each year; ask the office about the exact amount and whether basic insurance is accepted when you book. If you have supplementary insurance, keep the office's official invoice so you can claim the visit and treatment costs back.
